Raspberry Pi Project

Raspberry Pi

Well my Pi arrived today from element 14 so the task now is to load up the Linux operating system called Raspbmc from Sam Nazarko. This dedicated XMBC build enables you to stream your media from a Server to the TV via HDMI . Pi also has conventional video output, HDMI is the preferred setup though.

Amazing size of this board and capable of streaming 1080p video !!

The Pi ships as a standalone card, you need to also purchase a USB power lead, HDMI cable
and a case if you want to jazz it up a bit also an SD Card to store the operating system on. (Raspbmc)

All loaded up with XBMC .... streaming fine from my media server. Awaiting my Adafruit
case now and mounting up on a new Swivel TV mount.

Running the stream into my P22770HD Samsung Monitor/TV. The unit comes with a basic remote which I have swapped out from another Samsung TV remote which is a CEC type remote control which works well with the XMBC interface. The board also accepts either wireless or corded keyboard and mouse. Primarily used for initial setup.
